Problem with my cable connection, see details.
l built a new computer and installed windows. When my computer first boots
up and connects to cable, l have to wait a long time after it is booted
before l can actually get on the internet. If l try too early l get the
dns error, and the computer will NEVER connect to the internet until l
reboot, or disable and enable the local area connection. Sometimes even
that process does not help and l have to reboot and let it sit for about
ten minutes before l know it is safe to get on. l do not understand the delay, and most of all l really do not understand why it would fail to connect at all if l try it too early. I've called tech support at my cable company twice, and they have went through power management options on the network adapter with me. Those are disabled now and its still doing this.... Any ideas? l just built the system, memory is not the problem. l have 2 gig of ram and a 400 gig hd.
It sounds like your hard disk is corrupted or you don't have
enough memory to your system . Try running Disk defragmenter or in the
run box in the start menu type in msconfig (then click OK) and uncheck all
the programs that you don't need in the start up tab and reboot.
